Looking to plant some perennials in your garden this spring?

There are so many perennials available in garden centers today, and it is often hard to choose what will work best in our gardens considering the climate, soil and other atmospheric conditions.

Join horticulture expert and teacher Marc Zukovich as he presents tips and advice on selecting beautiful, easy growing, low-maintenance, and long-lasting perennials that keep coming back every year.

Marc’s  slide presentation will cover the most dependable perennial plants and shrubs  that we could plant in our gardens for years of beauty and enjoyment along with tips on the planting and care of all garden plants.

He will introduce perennials which are long blooming, tolerate less than perfect conditions, require low maintenance, are disease and insect resistant, and not invasive.

Lady’s mantle,  Coreopsis, Echinacea , Nepeta, catmint, shasta daisy, lamb’s ear, barberry,  are some of the plants he will be talking about along with many others, including deer resistant varieties as well.

Useful handouts will be provided and all your gardening questions answered.

Marc holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Botany from Drew University and certificates from Harvard Graduate School of Design and the New York Botanical Garden. Since 1989, Marc has been teaching classes in horticulture as an adjunct professor at County College of Morris, where he was recognized with the NISOD national award for teaching excellence. He also teaches community courses for the Adult School of the Chatham’s, Madison and Florham Park and lectures to garden clubs and library programs throughout northern New Jersey. Marc also provides a ‘garden coaching’ & landscape consultation service to homeowners and contractors.

This program is open to all and no registration is required.

It is made possible with the support of The Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
