Join professional traveler Chris McCormack as he takes you on a journey exploring two fascinating countries in East Asia–Japan and Mongolia.
With Japan fast becoming a popular travel hotspot, there is a lot to know and even more to see! If “The Land of the Rising Sun” is on your travel list, this talk will help you learn how to plan, where to start, what you will need to do before, during, and after your trip. Learn about apps you will need to use, must-see destinations, and insider tips for navigating the country. Discover the most cost effective way to get around and how you can avoid the crowds as much as possible. Chris will also talk about how to approach visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Mt. Fuji, and Kyoto, if you only have a limited amount of time on your hands.
Then hear about Chris’s adventurous 6 week trip across Mongolia on a motorcycle. Come learn about this fascinating country with many different landscapes like deserts, mountains, and lakes. Chris will share his experiences visiting the Tsaatan tribe on horseback, (they are one of the last reindeer herders in the world), the Eagle Hunters of Western Mongolia, and he'll share how he battled his way through the Gobi desert. His stories accompanied with his photos will leave you simply amazed.
Chris McCormack is a professional traveler who's been empowering people to see the world since 2014. He grew up in Rockaway and loves sharing his experiences with different communities including libraries, colleges, and senior centers.
