Event Details

After the immense success of the past 2 years, the Livingston Public Library invites you to participate in our 2026 Seed Library. Starting Monday, April 20th, stop by the library’s Reference department to browse our collection and pick from a variety of flower, herb and vegetable seeds, many of which are organic, heirloom and native to New Jersey. Please take only what you need, limited to 5 seed envelopes a week. When your plants have matured, harvest the seeds and bring them back to the library for the cycle to continue.

Seeds are FREE for anyone to take. You don’t have to bring seeds back, but it helps us if you do.

This Seed Library is sponsored by the Friends of the Livingston Public Library and through donations provided by the following garden centers: Burpee Seed Company, American Meadows, Great Swamp Greenhouses, Cerbo's Greenhouse and Eden Brothers.

For more information please visit the library or call the Reference desk at 973-992-4600 ext. 263.
