Event Details
The Livingston Public Library invites the public to join us for the Library’s June Senior Happening performance, where BJ Adams will present The Music of Motown on Friday, June 28th at 1pm. This high energy mix of soul and motown music will have you dancing and singing along in your seats!
BJ was one of the featured soloists in the New Hope Baptist Church Choir in Newark, New Jersey, which was the home of the late Whitney, Cissy, and Dionne. A high demand performer for many private and political functions in the New York Metropolitan Area, he has made singing appearances on the Sally Jesse Raphael and Queen Latifah TV shows, as well as performing extensively at local venues such as The "Champs Corner" for former heavyweight champ Larry Holmes, The Joetta Clark Diggs extravaganza, China Club, La Bar Bat, and BK's in New York, just to name a few.
The Senior Happening is a monthly series that allows attendees (“Seniors” or otherwise) to socialize during the first part of the program (12 until 12:45 pm) by bringing a bag lunch, while enjoying desserts and coffee served by the Friends of the Library volunteers. The program and entertainment then begins at 1 pm.
Registration is required and may be done in person at the library; by telephone at (973) 992-4600; or online at www.livingstonlibrary.org. Livingston residents may register starting June 10th and other Essex County residents may register starting June 24th.
Senior Happening is made possible in part by funds from the Essex County Division of Cultural Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
