Event Details

The Livingston Public Library invites the public to join us for a Senior Happening performance on Friday, February 21st at 1pm when Jane Stuart presents “Hooray for Love!”

Just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day, In “Hooray for Love” Sutart lends her own style to songs of love. This program celebrates love with songs written by some of the greatest songmith’s the world has known, and includes happy love, sad love, and everything in betweens. The songs of Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Louis Jordan, and Jule Styne, amongst many others will be featured.

Jane Stuart is a dynamic jazz vocalist and performer who has been singing, acting, and dancing professionally since she was five years old. Some of this journey has included performing off Broadway, on television, in the N.Y. Shakespeare Festival Jazz Theatre, singing on many national commercials such as: Chevrolet Heartbeat of America, Bain de Soleil, Stetson Cologne, etc.), as well as singing with her own quartet in jazz clubs, concert halls, jazz festivals, private parties, and in libraries for over 10 years.

Senior Happening is a monthly series that allows attendees (“Seniors” or otherwise) to socialize during the first part of the program (12 until 12:45 pm) by bringing a bag lunch, while enjoying desserts and coffee served by the Friends of the Library volunteers. The program and entertainment then begins at 1 pm.

Registration is required and may be done in person at the library; by telephone at (973) 992-4600; or online at www.livingstonlibrary.org. Livingston and Essex county residents may register starting February 3rd.

Senior Happening is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
