Program Description

Event Details

The Livingston Public Library invites the public to the Senior Happening series on Friday, October 18th when Rhonda Denet Presents "Sinatra: My Way.” This performance features songs from the 1930s through the 1960s, and celebrates the music of “Chairman of the Board,” Frank Sinatra. This showcase includes songs by one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century with a career spanning more than 50 years. Featured songs will include “Night & Day,” All The Way,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” “Summer Wind,” and “My Way.”

Rhonda performs regularly with her band The Bad Cats, as a lead vocalist for The Kazz Music Orchestra and as a cast member of the Off-Broadway show, “The Gong Show LIVE”. In addition she is proud to be the founder and primary performer for the Silver Fox Songs showcase series, a program which brings live music to appreciative populations at various community service organizations and celebrates American classics from Jazz to Soul.

The Senior Happening is a monthly series that allows attendees (“Seniors” or otherwise) to socialize during the first part of the program (12 until 12:45 pm) by bringing a bag lunch, while enjoying desserts and coffee served by the Friends of the Library volunteers. The program and entertainment then begins at 1 pm.

Registration is required and may be done in person at the library; by telephone at (973) 992-4600; or online at www.livingstonlibrary.org. Registration begins on September 30th for Livingston residents and other Essex County residents may register starting on October 14th.

Senior Happening is made possible in part by funds from the Essex County Division of Cultural Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and through the support from the Friends of the Livingston Library.
