Come see Joachim Trier's SENTIMENTAL VALUE on the big screen in our program room!
Nora (Renata Reinsve), an actor, and her sister Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lileaas), are grieving the loss of their mother when their father Gustav (Stellan Skarsgard) reappears in their lives after a long absence. Gustav, a once-celebrated filmmaker, has written a script for a comeback movie and offered the main part to his daughter Nora, but she categorically refuses the role. During a career retrospective in France, Gustav meets an adoring Hollywood star (Elle Fanning) and offers her the part intended for Nora.
SENTIMENTAL VALUE won this year's Academy Award for Best International Feature. It was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Renata Reinsve), Best Supporting Actor (Stellan Skarsgard), Best Supporting Actress (Inga Ibsdotter Lileaas, Elle Fanning), and Best Original Screenplay.
