Program Description

Event Details

Oral health is a critical part of our overall well-being. It affects not only our ability to eat, speak, and smile confidently, but it also plays a significant role in our overall health. Poor oral hygiene can lead to problems like tooth decay, gum disease, and even serious conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.

Join us for a presentation on oral health that will cover how to promote and maintain good oral hygiene including proper brushing techniques, flossing, and denture care. The impact of oral health on other conditions such as diabetes will also be reviewed. You will also learn more about conditions such as dry mouth, cavities, and oral infections.

Presenter Lucio Volino, PharmD, is a clinical pharmacist for the Retail Network at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Clinical Associate Professor, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, at Rutgers University.   Along with Lucio, Pharmacy Residents, Laasya Akurat, Victoria Arthus, and Sananda Kunduas, will also discuss the pros and cons of proper oral health and its effects on your overall health.

This presentation is in partnership with the Community Health & Outreach Department at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.  It is open to all and registration is required.
