Program Description

Event Details

Enjoy some vintage views of New Jersey in art and photography, that combine artworks curated from engravings,

paintings and photographs found in museums and the Library of Congress.

Presenter Walter Choroszewski  discusses the art periods which influenced the artworks and gives biographical information about the artists. He also revisits some of the NJ locations found in the artworks and offers a comparative view through his own photographs.

Walter is a well-known New Jersey photographer whose images were the inspiration for the iconic first state tourism campaign: NEW JERSEY & You Perfect Together!  He has been a leading advocate of Jersey pride since 1980, when he was commissioned to photograph the state for a book project. The resulting book, New Jersey: A Scenic Discovery, launched his photographic career, as well as his link to the Garden State.  Walter has since published 18 books of photography and numerous wall calendars about our state and region, and for over 40 years, has promoted New Jersey through public speaking.

This program is made possible with the support of The Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
