For one thousand years Jewish people have lived in Poland. They were welcomed by the kings but Jewish life in Poland also had its share of problems. Poland once had the largest Jewish community in the world.
In this virtual lecture and slide presentation that includes original photographs, speaker Sheila Taub will share what she learned during her visit to Poland in 2016. Find out what she observed in the large cities of Warsaw and Krakow as well as the small towns where members of her family once lived. Learn how the borders of Poland have changed and what the current Polish view is on their role in the Holocaust. Discover the Jewish Cultural Festival that takes place in Krakow every summer, all while enjoying some beautiful pictures taken by Sheila during her visit.
Sheila Taub is a retired high school business teacher who taught in Manhattan and Queens. She loves to travel and enjoys sharing what she has observed and learned while visiting exciting destinations. She also enjoys visiting interesting places close to home. She presents informative programs with amazing pictures about the destinations she has visited at libraries and community centers and has been a guest destination lecturer on cruise ships for many years.
