Learn how to identify, preserve, and interpret the old photographs in your personal collection.

This online workshop will help you rethink the role photography has had in our lives and develop a plan so you can confidently manage your collection, even if it includes thousands of images. This is a quick-paced, introductory workshop that incorporates authentic examples of 19th and 20th century images.

Attendees will:

Learn the basics of the history of photography and photographic processes.

Be challenged to think about photographic images in new ways and explore the many things that can be learned from a single image.

Learn how to best preserve, store, share, and display photographs to keep them safe, organized, and accessible for future generations.

Each workshop comes with a link to a specialized resource guide that can be accessed online.

Presenter Lindsey Smith is a museum curator and educator who loves to help people interpret, preserve, and better understand the objects that make up our world.
