Event Details

Breast Cancer Awareness Month, observed in October every year, aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects one in eight women in the United States every year and 2.3 million women worldwide.  Although much more common in women, breast cancer affects men, too.

Join Dr. Sarah S. Schaefer in this community health presentation as she gives an overview of statistics related to  breast cancer and discusses causes, symptoms, screening and diagnostic tools, treatment options, risk factors and prevention.

Sarah S. Schaefer, MD, is a board certified breast surgeon with the Center for Breast Health and Disease Management and a member of Barnabas Health Medical Group. She received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine.

This program is open to all but requires registration.
