           Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

                              欢庆中秋 

Would you like to watch the Moon with a telescope? Would you like to taste a mooncake? Come to Livingston Public Library for a Mid-Autumn Festival celebration and enjoy live singing and music. This program will be presented on Thursday, September 28th at 7pm. The performance will be held indoors in the Library Program Room.  The Moon will be viewed outside on the library patio.

During the evening celebration, you will: 

  • Watch the Moon with a high power telescope
  • Taste mooncakes with tea and coffee  
  • Enjoy live singing performances including solo, duet and trio 
  • Experience traditional Chinese instrument performances: guzheng, pipa and ruan  
  • Be entertained by a comedian
  • Listen to poetry recitation

Livingston Public Library is excited to host talented performers. Two of which are Xuefeng Wan and Yang Jin. Xuefeng Wan, baritone, is the music director of Everest Vocal. He won the Honorable Mention Award at the 6th Metropolitan International Vocal Competition in 2017. Xuefeng was a judge of "Voice of China" in the New York Division in 2023 and “Culture of China Water Cube Cup Chinese Songs Contents” in 2023, 2022 and 2021. Yang Jin is an extremely talented pipa and guzheng soloist. She received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the world renowned Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing.  Jin was an award winner of the prestigious Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music, and collaborated with Yo Yo Ma's "Silk Road " ensemble.

The program is free and open to all ages. Space is limited. Registration is required. Registration is open on September 7th. This program is made possible with the support of the Friends of the Library.
