Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with this art talk on the great artists of Latin America by artist and lecturer Suzanne Altman.
This illustrated slide presentation will explore many significant artists originating in Mexico, Central and South America, including the ground-breaking contributions of the three major Mexican Muralists; Diego Rivera, David Siqueros, and Jose Orozco.
Suzanne will explore the unique paintings of Frida Kahlo and Fernando Botero, and the cutting edge work of contemporary artists in performance art, installations, and conceptual media. Significant contributions by Latin women such as Ana Mendieta and Carmen Herrara will be included as well.
Suzanne Altman is an art educator and art historian who has presented art and art history programs in various venues to adult and teenage audiences. She is also a painter who works out of her studio and art school in Ossining, NY and exhibits frequently.
The presentation is open to all and no registration is required.
