Capture the flavor of summer’s bounty for your table in this hands-on workshop led by Lesley Parness.
Participants make a bottle of herbal vinegar and learn skills for a lifetime of cooking.
Herbal vinegars can be used in salad dressings, marinades, pickling, velveting, gravlax, sushi rice, refreshing summer drinks, and even desserts (think grilled peaches drizzled with lavender balsamic vinegar).
First, sample a variety of herbal vinegars.
Then, craft your own vinegar using a selection of organically grown herbs and spices.
Learn how to harvest herbs and prepare them, what equipment to use, savvy techniques and tips, and proper storage.
A handout of herbal vinegar recipes will be provided.
This workshop is open to Livingston Library card holders 18 and up; space is limited.
All materials will be provided.
