Event Details
In the spring of 1775, the American colonies took up arms in defense of their rights and liberties, igniting the Revolutionary War and the long struggle for independence from British rule. Following victory in the American Revolution, the newly formed United States recognized the need for a permanent, organized military force—establishing Armed Forces to protect the nation by land and sea.
Join speaker and photographer Walter Choroszewski for an engaging presentation tracing the development of the United States Armed Forces—from the colonial militias and Continental Army to today’s modern military branches. This lecture will explore the formation, evolution, and missions of all six branches: the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and the newest addition, the Space Force.
Discover how America’s military has grown alongside the nation, adapting to new challenges and technologies while continuing its vital role in national defense and global security.
