In this musical adaptation of Alice Walker's novel, a woman (Fantasia Barrino) faces many hardships in her life, but ultimately finds extraordinary strength and hope in the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood. The film was nominated for Best Supporting Actress (Danielle Brooks) at this year's Academy Awards.
