Program Description

Event Details

Learn which flowers and shrubs are well-suited to sustain valuable creatures in our gardens during the fall and winter months.  This workshop also discusses how to modernize fall cleanup, and how “leaving the leaves” can nurture your garden.  It will also cover native plants that extend the blooming season well into the fall and offer habitat and food source to overwintering insects and birds.

Presenter Deb Ellis is the founder and leader of the Essex Chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey, a Master Gardener and a Rutgers Environmental Steward. She is passionate about teaching how to use native plants to promote biodiversity.
