Speaker Valerie Gugala will delve into the private lives of U.S. presidents, including Presidents Adams, Jackson, Truman, Carter, FDR & JFK plus a few others. She will be uncovering the passions, and enduring love stories that have shaped the course of history.

This talk offers a compelling look at the human side of the presidency and the enduring power of love in the political arena.

Historian Gugala has dedicated her career to exploring the past, unearthing the stories that have shaped our world. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for uncovering the truth, Valerie brings history to life in a way that is both engaging and thought-provoking.

Valerie has been studying Abraham and Mary Lincoln for as long as she can remember. Her interest in the Lincolns led her to an interest in the Presidents, First Ladies, and their families. She and her husband have traveled to many Presidential Libraries across the country, and they have a goal of visiting all of them in the next few years. Over the last 25 years, Valerie has spoken at libraries, schools, churches, senior groups, and park districts throughout the country. She loves to share her knowledge of and enthusiasm for our country’s history with audiences.
