DESCRIPTION:Parents, caregivers, and children ages 2-5 years old enjoy sto
 ries and songs based on the theme of the day. To prepare for Storytime:Br
 ing your child to the library. Children who visit in advance and are famil
 iar with their surroundings tend to be less apprehensive and more attentiv
 e.Read to your child daily! Reading helps to provide early language and li
 teracy skills, helps build memory with repetition, provides phonological a
 wareness and listening skills, helps children develop a lifetime love of b
 ooks, and so much more!Day of Storytime:Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes befor
 e storytime begins. Arriving on time gives you a chance to socialize with 
 others and ensures that you will be able to participate in all of the fun 
 activities of the session. We also aim to minimize distractions and be res
 pectful to the group.Parent/Caregiver participation is essential to storyt
 ime success! Adults model good behavior for children by being attentive an
 d listening to the stories and songs. Maximize your storytime experience b
 y muting all devices and saving adult conversations until after story time
 . (see the bottom for a fun phone song!) Older/younger siblings are welcom
 e too!Do not bring food to storytime. To minimize distractions and for the
  safety of the group,  we ask that you do not bring food to storytime. Br
 eastfeeding and bottle feeding are welcomed.If your child is not intereste
 d, it’s OK to step away and “regroup.” You can always try again in a
  few minutes or another day.
