DESCRIPTION:Lung cancer is one of the most common and deadliest cancers wo
rldwide, often diagnosed at later stages when treatment options are more l
imited. Join us for an informative session on lung cancer and the role of
robotic bronchoscopy in its diagnosis with Dr. Yu Ma Htwe of Cooperman Ba
rnabas Medical Center.Dr. Htwe will review how common lung cancer is, the
different types, and symptoms to watch for. The discussion will cover caus
es and risk factors, what prognosis may look like, and why early detection
is so important. Learn who should be screened, how lung cancer is diagnos
ed—including advanced bronchoscopic techniques—and practical steps you
can take to help reduce your risk through prevention.Dr. Htwe joined RWJB
arnabas Health in 2024 as Director of the Interventional Pulmonary Program
and Lung Nodule Program. Her passions include collaborative patient care
and ensuring excellent clinical quality and compassionate caregiving.  Dr
. Htwe’s clinical interests focus on the early detection and diagnosis o
f lung cancer and the management of thoracic malignancies, airway disorder
s, and pleural diseases using minimally invasive techniques. She has advan
ced training in interventional pulmonology, with expertise in robotic-assi
sted bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, and other
advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. This community health p
rogram is being presented in partnership with Cooperman Barnabas Medical C
 enter, and requires registration.
